My week in skies

OK, I admit it, I've been sky-ving at work again. Well, at this time of year, the non-work time tends to be dark, so when else am I supposed to get my fix of cloudscapes? Apart from the weekend, obvs.

Monday in Kirkwall. Waiting to catch a ferry in daylight. Yay!

Wednesday in Stromness. Freaky rainbow fragment.

Saturday in Stromness. Not actually work, but volunteering for a charity.
The use of the car roof as a reflective medium was accidental. Apologies that it's not in Focus, as it's a Fiesta.

and another thing... after reading your blog this morning re Greg Lake, I Youtubed ' I believe in Father Christmas' that is no cuddly xmas song, that is one damn good track from every aspect. Btw I'm now listening to Schuman's 2nd symphony but in the car is The Clash!!! But when TWD (the wonderful Deb) gets within 20 yards of the car it will become radio 3 :)

A wide musical taste is a good thing.

I do like a lyric and a song that works on many levels.
Neil Peart's lyrics for Rush songs before Snakes and Arrows are also a good source of life lessons.

agreed! That man has a way with words. For me his masterpiece was 'Fountains of Lamneth' way back on 'Caress of steel' How unusual for a drummer to be the lyricist. But what an incedibly awesome band.

I would find it difficult to create a shortlist of Peart's philosphical puns.
