Prodigal sun

Hi folks! Just back from a week in north west Scotland, searching for a few of the less abundant dragonflies of these isles. The weather was just peachy. Long days of warm sunshine, with the occasional thundery shower to freshen up the air and give the landscape that sparkling glow. Glorious. What's been happening down here in jolly old England, then? Why are you all looking at me like that... ?

It was rather bizarre. The day before we headed north, the 5 day forecast for Gairloch was showers throughout. Apart from the first morning, when we walked around the bay in the rain, we only had 2 brief thundery downpours to contend with all week. Meanwhile, a constant flurry of text messages revealed that all was not so well south of the border. we considered ourselves very fortunate.

It's all rather lush though, isn't it? At least the bits that haven't been washed away.

And the good news is, that now you are back, you can see what Odes look like close up on the FOHESC & ToaBV Blogs!
