In a blunt piece of foreshadowing, I can happily report that our local council have issued a "draft emerging policy" on wind turbines.
And not as I read it, a "draught emerging" policy.
Ha-ha-ha. That's funny on so many levels, admittedly most of them puerile.
It seems that old Tense is going to have to get his arse off the fence on this issue.
Am I worried about splinter groups? No, just splinters.

I think you'll find they mean daft emerging policy to prevent Mayfly hatching in strong winds!
Priceless! :o)
Well as long as it is widely accepted that offshore wind turbines work much better and more often than onshore ones... and the west is better than the East... (i.e. windier!) then you might get a common sense decision. Good luck. I am not opposed to them, but in the right place and they aren't the most efficient things in the world!
Good luck in finding the Draft Excluder ;)
Ah, a breeze of sanity in an otherwise blustery world. I hear that you're under the weather too. There's a lot of it about. Especially on Blogger! Get Well Soon, Dr J. Best Wishes, Graeme
We don't need wind farms everywhere. There's a perfectly adequate one in Westminster.
If only we could hook it up to the National Grid, Keith... as a means of power generation, rather than electrocuting the members. Then again... :O)
Oh what wonderful pun and wit! All contributions have made me smile which is just what I need after another long stressed week with disturbed nights, a headache for two days, a bit of tinnitus last night and generally shattered! You've all really cheared me up! Thanks gang!!!
Have a pleasant weekend, John. It shouldn't be hard to chill!
Nah! I'm frozen to the bone now just walking back ironically from the Sun! Think I'll have to don my thermal leggings tomorrow in London!
